Vera Edith Dieckmann

XO Atelier
Creative Director & Founder

Vera Edith Dieckmann founded XO Atelier in December 2018 to realise her full creative potential in the field of design. She is a graduate engineer with a focus on architecture and over 25 years of experience in all aspects of interior design.

Working for renowned firms such as David Ling in New York, Gunther Spitzley in Zurich, Matteo Thun Studio in Milan, and DWP Malaysia, Vera also honed her skills at Global Hospitality chains Marriott Holdings and FRHI, now known as Accor, expanding her knowledge of custom product design: light installations, furniture, textiles, and accessories. Vera founded her own studio to provide clients with the support and dedicated services they require, motivated by her innate desire to discover a unique path.

Asfour is an MIT and Harvard-trained architect with over 25 years of experience as a practicing designer, innovator, and educator. Prior to joining DIDI, he taught architecture at several universities in Lebanon and the United States. He is a founding partner of Polypod, a multidisciplinary collaborative design studio in Beirut, Lebanon. He speaks frequently and widely about the importance of redesigning design education as a key driver of the creative economy.

Charlie Kelly

Regional Managing Director ‑ Asia & Middle East
DWP

Charlie Kelly is a RIBA-certified architect with more than 30 years of experience in the UK, Asia, and the Middle East. He has a track record of leading and managing large teams on innovative designs in various parts of the world, with a focus on the delivery of complex projects. He has successfully completed numerous projects in a variety of sectors, including mixed-use, commercial, masterplanning, hospitality, residential, education, transportation, and infrastructure, and defence projects.

Sandra Woodall

Design Director
tangramGulf

Sandra Woodall is a UK-qualified architect and urbanist who has lived in the Middle East for over 25 years, where she leads the award-winning MENA design studio for tangramGULF, a firm known for delivering diverse social infrastructure projects throughout the region with sustainability at the forefront.
Woodall's design approach utilises traditional desert urbanism and building materials used in a contemporary manner, creating contextually climatic responsive designs which incorporate nature to promote an improved health and wellbeing for the benefit of all. This was clearly demonstrated almost 20 years ago when tangram delivered the very first government building in Dubai to incorporate a green roof, reducing both the effects of the urban island effect and the buildings’ interior temperatures and thus the buildings’ energy demands.
