Dimitri Papakonstantinou, managing director, ASI

ASI is the interior fit-out subsidiary of ASGC established in 1997. Op- operating over the years as both the fit-out partner of ASGC as well as other contractors and developers, ASI has gained a wealth of experience in many sectors of the construction industry. Having a state-of-the-art woodworking factory in DIP as well as the in-house capability for the majority of the fit-out trades gives ASI an advantage in the market to differentiate itself from others. Their experienced management team is continuously striving to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of all their operations. Innovation is a fundamental principle shared by the entire ASGC group of companies, including ASI. They are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to complete their projects. Over the last couple of years, ASI has successfully stepped out of its comfort zone of ‘business as usual’ and ventured into peripheral fields linked to the interior’s scope. Whilst fit-out remains the core business of the company.

Furthermore, continuous internal evaluation of how things are done and, more importantly, how they can be improved is central to how ASI operates and thinks. A major focus was given to setting up measurement and data capturing systems to facilitate data analysis with the use of Power BI-based dashboards and reports. This focuses on preparing dashboards for each project which monitor critical path activities, technical submittal status, QHSE data, cost, cash, productivity, and other parameters. This can assist in making quicker and better decisions. ASI has had the opportunity to demonstrate and expand its skills and experience on a variety of exciting projects throughout the UAE, including hospitality projects such as 25 hours Hotel in DWTC, as well as some exciting F&B concepts such as Dream Restaurant & Café and Mott 32 in Address Beach Hotel- JBR, as well as commercial projects such as Egypt Embassy Abu Dhabi and retail projects such as China Town Boulevard Expansion Dubai Mall.
