“The challenge is to continue to deliver high-end value architecture whilst keeping an eye on cost and efficiency, with no compromise on quality.

His enthusiasm for archi tecture and cutting-edge technology sets him apart in the region’s design industry. Meet Mohamed Ali, who is the design director at RMJM. With strong experience in de sign, technology, and architecture, he joined the organisation in 2013. Ali believes in data-driven design’ where diverse project inputs and circumstances contribute to the sculpture and enhances the overall project architecture.

Ali feels: “The challenge is to continue to deliver high-end value architecture whilst keeping an eye on cost and efficiency, with no compromise on quality. The role of architecture has been extended heavily in the last decade by applying BIM workflow. This has transformed the design routine into a communication and data delivery platform to visualise thoughts on the fly and ultimately give the client answers to the impact of every design decision. The process has opened the potential to achieve more sustainable buildings in terms of carbon footprint or energy efficiency. The RMJM project, RAK Public Realm, is a good example of a sustainable off-grid building. Solar Panels cover 100% of the operational power consumption, whilst still adding a great architectural feature to the master plan, and offering a lovely retail experience.”
