Founded by Ali Mohammadioun and Elnaz Taghaddos in 2019, E Plus A Atelier delivers EA183 Private Residence in Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City (District One) in Dubai.
The residence is located in a desirable neighbourhood, and the interiors honour regional design with a neutral colour palette that reflects the warm UAE light and the warm tones of the surrounding desert plains. The residence offers breathtaking views of Dubai’s iconic skyline, perfectly manicured tropical gardens, and the surrounding neighbourhood. The bold highlights and confident art reflect the personalities of the occupants. Concept E Plus A Atelier created a blueprint of the proprietor’s and the occupant’s needs to ensure a functional space that allowed them to circulate efficiently throughout the residence while maintaining an appreciation for Arabic-inspired style.
The design conveys a sense of biophilic living through exquisite detailing, a neutral colour palette, and delicate detailing. The overall design is a one-of-a-kind combination of modernism, extensionism, and an elegant nod to traditional Middle Eastern opulence.
The firm thoughtfully considered the family’s demanding lifestyle to create a home with the comforts expected of a luxury hotel. The neutral colour palette and natural materials are emphasised with subtle highlights of teale, artwork and suspended sculptures. Constantly on the move, the inhabitants desired a stylish home they could effortlessly secure when away.
The client wanted to incorporate the grandeur of the inspirational environment with impressive living spaces. The soothing colours throughout the opulent residence allow for a sense of calm for the occupants with a blend of floor-to-ceiling windows, restful décor and playful nature-inspired highlights allowing them to rest and entertain. Challenges overcome The most challenging installation was the grand, oversized staircase.
E Plus A Atelier reworked the design blueprint to ensure that the white marble, brass detailing, and wood accents blended with the softness of the overall design. Alterations to the shell and core structure were technically challenging and required first-rate MEP planning to ensure functionality and practicality without compromising on aesthetics.
The lavish movie theatre and games room have oversized comfortable seating, exquisite modern and mischievous art, and views of the Burj Khalifa. The Corissia tree garden, viewed from the sitting room, is an impressive talking piece that looks striking due to the floor-to-ceiling windows and the impressive views of the futuristic skyline. Hand-blown glass suspended sculptures throughout the residence afford a sense of nature and provide unique accents mimicking the character of its occupants.
