The Power Of Architecture Book Launch
Architect Marijana Beric launched her book, The Power of Architecture, at an exclusive event by Motif Interiors in Al Quoz

UAE-based multidisciplinary architect and urban planner Marijana Beric celebrated the launch of her book, The Power of Architecture, at an exclusive event hosted by Motif Interiors in Al Quoz. The evening brought together the region’s design community for insightful conversations on architecture’s evolving role in shaping spaces and experiences.
With a career spanning Serbia, France, the US, Spain, India, and the UAE, Beric has embraced diverse cultures and design philosophies. Reflecting on her journey, she shared how architecture transcends borders, acting as a universal language that connects people and places.
“Architecture knows no boundaries—just like my journey across continents. From Serbia to France, Spain to India, where I began teaching at university at a very young age, to the UAE, my home for the past 10 years—every place has shaped my perspective, proving that design is a universal language that connects us all,” said Marijana Beric. “As architects, we never work in silos—we are always deeply connected to the people and communities we design for.”
A panel discussion moderated by Marina Mrdjen, founder of Intelier, featured Vrushali Mhatre (Heriot Watt University), Bojan Stankovic (BSBG), and Nikola Stanisic (Levins). The panel explored architecture’s impact on human experience, sustainability, and the future of design.
Riyas Mohammed, co-founder of Motif Interiors, highlighted the company’s commitment to fostering industry dialogue, stating: “It’s always great to support the local design community and open the doors of our showroom in Al Quoz to initiatives like this. Motif Interiors is more than just a space for design—it’s a platform for collaboration, conversation, and inspiring the next generation of architects and designers.”
The evening concluded with a book signing and networking session, where guests had the opportunity to engage with Beric and gain deeper insights into the themes of her book.
