A Decade Of Excellence: DZ Design Marks 10 Years Of Luxury Living
Founded by Dina Murali and Zain Belgami, DZ Design has established itself as a leader in luxury hospitality and multi-family residential design across the wider MENA region
From being one of the first design studios to set up in the newly established Dubai Design District (d3) to becoming a powerhouse in luxury hospitality and residential design, DZ Design is marking ten years of pushing boundaries and delivering exceptional spaces across the MENA region and Africa.
DZ Design’s journey began in 2014 with a clear goal—to create spaces that balance, functionality, and sustainability. Today, with a 30+ member team operating across two UAE offices and one in India, the studio has evolved into a trusted partner for developers and architecture firms, delivering high-end hospitality, multi-family developments, and branded residences at scale.

“When we started DZ Design, our focus was simple—to design spaces that are elegant, durable, and timeless,” says Dina Murali, co-founder and design director. “Fast forward ten years, and while our scale has grown, our design philosophy remains the same—every project must be both inspiring and technically sound.”
DZ Design has been officially appointed as the interior design consultant for Cheval Ladun Living, a newly launched luxury residential project in Riyadh, expected to be completed by 2027, and estimated to cost up to $79.99 million.
From the start, DZ Design was built on the principle that great design isn’t just about creativity—it’s about execution, ensuring that every design decision aligns with engineering, MEP, and operational requirements.
“Our goal was always clear—whatever we design must be executable,” says Zain Belgami, managing director. “With today’s rapid evolution of 3D visuals and AI-generated designs, it’s even more critical to highlight a studio’s technical expertise. Design is not just about creating a concept—it’s about ensuring that every detail is buildable, cost-effective, and seamlessly integrated into the bigger picture.”
As DZ Design enters its second decade, its projects are growing in both scale and ambition. The studio is playing a significant role in shaping high-end hospitality and residential developments across the MENA region, particularly in Saudi Arabia. The team is currently working on another major branded residential development in Riyadh, alongside Cheval by Ladun. In Dubai, projects include the refurbishment of
Pullman JLT, Mövenpick Mamzar, and Mövenpick Healthcare City, while in Abu Dhabi, the studio is designing a large-scale multi-family residential development.
Beyond project execution, Murali has been consistently recognised as an influential voice in the design industry, earning a place among the Top 50 most influential interior designers working in the region year after year. As a speaker at CID Power Panels, Index Design Talks, and Dubai Design Week, she shares insights on sustainability, innovation, and purpose-driven design. She is also deeply invested in
mentoring the next generation of designers, ensuring that DZ Design remains at the forefront of industry evolution.
With new markets opening up and larger projects on the horizon, the studio remains committed to delivering designs that inspire, endure, and add real value.
