H.H. Sheikha Latifa Visits Downtown Design, Celebrating Innovation & Creativity In Dubai
H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum highlighted the vital role of Downtown Design in supporting emerging talent and entrepreneurs

During her tour, H.H. Sheikha Latifa emphasised the fair’s pivotal role in nurturing talented individuals and entrepreneurs, encouraging them to present their creative work and translate their ideas into sustainable economic opportunities. She noted that initiatives such as Downtown Design strengthen Dubai’s position as a global hub for the creative economy and innovation.
H.H. Sheikha Latifa met with prominent designers and exhibitors, commending their innovative and high-quality designs across furniture, lighting, contemporary art, and lifestyle accessories. She explored exceptional projects from regional and international names, including Huda Lighting, Kartell, Kohler, Poltrona Frau, Obegi Home, Venini, Roche Bobois, Stellar Works, Calico Wallpaper, Porada, and Desalto.
The Chairperson also viewed works by emerging designers such as Finasi, crafted in the UAE, and Strata, created by Pakistani mother-and-son duo Yousaf Shahbaz and Saira Ahsan. She visited Designed in Saudi, an initiative by the Architecture and Design Commission of the Ministry of Culture, and 1971 Design Space from Sharjah, featuring innovative material designs by Lina Ghalib and Nuhayr Zein.
H.H. Sheikha Latifa was briefed on the Tanween Design Programme by Tashkeel and the Makers’ Furniture Fellowship by MAKE in Abu Dhabi, marking their debut participation in the fair. She also toured immersive installations, including the Solaire Lounge by Veuve Clicquot in collaboration with Marcel Poulain Studio, the Buccellati Lounge by david/nicolas, Styled Habitat’s collaboration with Nordic Homeworx, and Cosentino’s hospitality installation by Studio Etéreo.
In addition, H.H. Sheikha Latifa visited the UAE Designer Exhibition, supported by Dubai Culture and mentored by designer Nada Debs, which allows emerging talent to translate local identity into contemporary craftsmanship while maintaining sustainability. The fair also featured The Forum, a platform for leading global and regional thought leaders, and Editions Art and Design, showcasing limited-edition works by visionary artists and designers worldwide.
