Luxury Briefing was founded in London in 1996 by designer James Ogilvy, great-grandson of King George V and cousin of Queen Elizabeth II. The idea was born during Ogilvy’s time at St. Andrews University where he met Julia Rawlinson – daughter of the vice-chairman of the merchant bank Morgan Grenfell. In 20 years, the business has elevated from a subscription-based newsletter to keep CEOs informed and connected to a pre-eminent global source for intelligence and innovation in luxury. Since James Ogilvy sold out in 2009, the business has been continuously progressing and expanding.
