Fabidha Safar-Rahman, an Interior Designer with 19 years of experience, founded Design Matter in 2017. In the past seven years, her firm has expanded into an award-winning team of 11. Fabidha oversees a diverse array of commercial projects, including healthcare, retail, corporate, education, and facade design, while also guiding a growing residential team led by Leema Ajith.

Design Matter recently completed the design of two residential towers, Al Ameera Village Phase 3 and Numiya Tower II, totalilng 287,116.55 sqft for GJ Real Estate. Two additional towers, Oasis Tower 3 and Al Ameera Village Phase 4, are currently in the concept stage.

In the healthcare sector, Fabidha has led 25 projects, including the 190,000 sqft Medcare Royal Specialty Hospital, a landmark in luxury healthcare. Other notable projects include the Anti-Aging Skin Clinic in Abu Dhabi and various Medcare facilities.

Since 2020, Design Matter has refurbished 34 prestigious holiday homes, making a substantial impact on the rental market. A notable transformation involved a 20-year-old Emirates Hills villa, which increased from AED 2.4 million to a 60 million asking price after Fabidha’s interventions. The firm has also renovated properties along Abu Dhabi’s mangroves, such as Zaya Nurai, significantly raising their market value.
