L ooking ahead, Michael and his team are shaping the next chapter of RSP through an ambitious global pipeline. The studio is collaborating with world-renowned brands on a new generation of five-star hotels and residences, further strengthening its reputation for design excellence at the highest level. In Southeast Asia, RSP’s presence is expanding with landmark commissions in Malaysia, including the design of a Royal Family home, an honour that emphasizes the studio’s ability to blend cultural sensitivity with design. This project not only deepens ties within the region but also elevates RSP’s profile as a trusted partner for clients of the highest stature. Equally promising is the growth of the studio’s masterplanning division. Despite being a relatively new team, they have already earned recognition at the World Architecture Festival, highlighting its capacity to deliver bold, award- worthy visions. Together, these initiatives signal a future defined by creativity, innovation, and global leadership.

PROJECTS

THAT DEFINE EXCELLENCE Michael’s career is defined by projects that not only embody luxury but also advance design innovation in the region. The Karl Lagerfeld Villas in Dubai marked the fashion house’s first Middle Eastern residential venture, establishing a benchmark for branded living. Beyond luxury, subtle details infused with Lagerfeld’s personality, such as tailored spatial compositions and signature design motifs, set a new standard for fashion-driven architecture. Equally transformative is the Armani Hotel & Residences at Diriyah Gate, where Michael introduced the “Tower of Light.” Its dynamic perforated façade ensures no two moments are the same, blending Najdi cultural expression with Armani’s sleek modernism. This synthesis of tradition and cutting-edge design demonstrates how branded design can be both contextual and globally iconic. Finally, the Nobu Hotel & Residences on Saadiyat Island bridges cultures by weaving Emirati nuances into Nobu’s minimalist Japanese aesthetic.
