SAY Studio creates an inspiring workplace for Reliance International, India’s leading multinational conglomerate for the re-location of their International Business Trading Centre, located on Level 33 and half of Level 34 of ICD Brookfield Place in Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC).
“Reliance’s new offices provided an opportunity to represent the company’s brand, value, ambition, and culture within a space,” says Laila Al-Yousuf, Design Director at SAY Studio. “The functional and planning considerations are buttressed by elements that draw from spirituality, materiality, craftsmanship, and hospitality to create a unique space for a unique firm.”
With functionality paramount, Level 33 was allocated as the main trading centre, housing traders’ desks, and meeting rooms; Level 34 features offices for visiting directors, a visitor management area, and conference rooms.

Collaboration Culture
Reliance’s offices serve as a pivotal space for interaction, cross-collaboration, and innovation. The design integrates areas for focused work with collaborative and social spaces, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and creativity.

What is Good for India is Good for Reliance
The belief that “What is Good for India is Good for Reliance” has guided the company’s ambitions and actions. The office design reflects Indian spirituality, materiality, craftsmanship, and hospitality, celebrating the company’s rich heritage and culture.

Elegantly Connected
A feature staircase connects Levels 33 and 34, providing vertical circulation and access to meeting rooms. The private internal stairs are complemented by a pendant chandelier, adding elegance for visitors and employees.

Letting the Positive Energy Flow
The design honors Vastu Shastra principles to ensure harmony and positive energy flow. Elements such as a hammered ceiling in the pantry, traditional Indian-pattern flooring, and lighting inspired by Indo-Islamic architecture pay homage to Reliance’s cultural heritage.

The Open Approach
In an open office environment, visual separation is achieved through differentiated “neighborhoods.” Acoustic ceiling panels and partitions, reflecting the client’s brandmarks, provide privacy while maintaining an open feel. Different textures break the monotony of the space without creating visual interruptions.

For Every Work Mode
The heritage corridor is complemented by a collaboration area, ensuring diverse work modes are accommodated effectively. With casual seating, comfy cushions, and poufs, the space offers a modern, café-like feel ideal for informal meetings or brainstorming sessions. On the other side of the corridor, small focus rooms are designed for private conversations and one-on-one discussions. Phone booths are also available for individual, focused work. Adding character and a sense of wellness to the space is a bespoke moss wall that discreetly contains storage.

Reliance’s new offices in ICD Brookfield Place, DIFC, are an exciting next step for one of the region’s leading multinational conglomerates.
