Saint-Gobain, a French multinational, opens its first knowledge space in the Middle East at Masdar City, Abu Dhabi’s flagship sustainable urban community.

Hady Nassif CEO Saint-Gobain Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East, Antoine Ghazal CEO Saint-Gobain Gulf Countries inaugurated today AL-MUNTADA – Knowledge Space by Saint-Gobain under the auspices of the French Embassy in the UAE represented by Jean-Baptiste Chauvel, Regional French Economic Counsellor for the Arabian Peninsula and Ahmed Baghoum Acting CEO of Masdar City.

AL-MUNTADA, a 400sqm space built over a 2,200sqm land will showcase the latest Innovations of Saint-Gobain in light and sustainable Construction, namely the lightweight façade system, internal partitions and acoustic ceilings from Gyproc, acoustic and sustainable decorative flooring systems from Weber, pre-insulated lightweight HVAC ducts from Kimmco-Isover, Best performant acoustic ceilings tiles and seamless acoustic ceilings from Ecophon, high performance glass which provides high light and visibility by using Saint-Gobain Glass, fire resistant and safety glass from Vetrotech, Safety films on glass from Solar Gard and sustainable cast iron draining pipes from Saint-Gobain PAM.

The Photovoltaic panels used are also generating 20% more energy than what is required to operate the building.

Using the latest technology of smart glass from SageGlass in its construction, AL-MUNTADA will offer a unique Feel, Hear, See, Breathe experience. This space also features a digital and physical solutions library, a learning center that will target improving the technical awareness in the construction and will be open for Developers, authorities, architects, Consultants, Engineers, Contractors, Distributors and University Students allowing them to discover the world of Saint-Gobain.

Masdar City, the hub of sustainability, was naturally selected to be the home of AL-MUNTADA that aims to be a net zero carbon building.

As world leader in the light and sustainable construction, Saint-Gobain which is engaged in a net-zero carbon commitment by 2050 will accelerate its growth in UAE and the GCC through AL-MUNTADA- Knowledge Space by Saint-Gobain, as well as raise awareness of its innovative solutions addressing the challenges of light and sustainable construction, resource efficiency and climate change.
