With a career spanning over two decades and a profound commitment to pushing the boundaries of design excellence, Michael’s influence extends far beyond the walls of the studio, leaving a mark on the architectural landscape of the region. Under Michael’s leadership, RSP has experienced remarkable growth and expansion, both in terms of its project portfolio and its geographical reach. The increase in the studio’s workforce by 20% in the past year alone and the completion of a new office space as a result of this growth signify not only the studio’s growing influence within the industry but also its commitment to providing a dynamic and collaborative environment for the team members. This expansion has enabled RSP to take on larger and more ambitious projects around the region, further cementing its reputation as a leader in the field of architecture and design.

NOBU HOTEL & BRANDED RESIDENCES in Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi

In 2023, RSP collaborated with Aldar Properties and the renowned Nobu brand to launch the distinguished Nobu Hotel & Branded Development on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. This project serves as a clear demonstration of RSP’s expertise in the local hospitality scene. Michael spearheaded the design team in understanding and capturing the needs of both the client and developer, effectively bringing the essence of the brand to life in a distinctive hospitality experience for future guests One of Michael’s noteworthy projects which was successfully launched last year is the Haven Development, a collaboration with Aldar Properties that redefines luxury living with its serene and health-conscious design ethos. This distinguished residential development located in Dubai marks a departure from the urban landscape, embracing a harmonious blend of nature and modernity. Infused with the vitality of a green oasis, the Haven Development features flowing lines and loops that meander through the masterplan, guiding individuals through meditative spaces, community parks, and lush landscapes. 

A major milestone for RSP Dubai studio this year was the completion of one of its most significant projects yet: the Hindu Mandir Complex. This monumental project, initiated in 2018, involved a global competition for the first Hindu Temple Complex in the region, organized by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. Michael’s leadership played a pivotal role in the successful completion of this project, which stands as a testament to RSP’s commitment to cultural enrichment and community cohesion. 

HAVEN DEVELOPMENT In Dubai

Another notable achievement this year was the successful launch of Madinat Jumeirah Living Elara in collaboration with Dubai Holding. Michael’s design team provided comprehensive design services, bringing to life Dubai Holding’s vision for these upscale residential developments boasting stunning views of the iconic Burj Al Arab.

His impact on RSP extends beyond his role as Creative Director; he is also a mentor, collaborator, and advocate for his team. Recognizing the importance of nurturing talent and fostering a culture of continuous learning, Michael invests significant time and energy into guiding and developing the next generation of designers and architects within the studio. Through mentorship programs, skills development initiatives, and a commitment to inclusivity, he empowers his team to realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to RSP’s success.

With the upcoming opening of RSP’s office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a pipeline of ambitious projects on the horizon such as a luxury residential hospitality projects in Rabat, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai and mixed-use developments in Saudi Arabia, Michael looks forward to continuing RSP’s trajectory of growth and contributing further to the regional construction scene.
