Martin’s global outlook stems from his deep passion for travel and fascination with cultural diversity. His journey began in 1996, when he left Canada for Hong Kong, where he honed his skills as a design architect with HOK on high-end projects across the Asia Pacific. Following a stint in Japan, he moved to Singapore to work under renowned Australian architect Kerry Hill, further immersing himself in the world of luxury design.
In 2005, Martin arrived in Dubai, and in 2007, alongside his business partner Pedram Rad, he co-founded U+A. The company has since become one of the region’s most sought-after design firms. Martin and Pedram’s vision for a world-class practice perfectly aligned with the region’s burgeoning demand for luxury and quality. U+A’s growth now encompasses over 200 employees offering a comprehensive range of services, including architecture, interior design, master planning, project management, and, thanks to Martin’s strong advocacy for holistic design, a newly established landscape division.
